Can I visit Rich Hollow Farm?
We do not currently offer regularly-scheduled visits or tours, but if you will be in the area feel free to let us know and we will try to arrange something!
When will your list of dahlia tubers be available?
We expect our tuber store to open December 1. Be sure to check back here or join our mailing list for announcements!
When will my tubers be shipped?
Dahlia tubers are extremely frost-sensitive. We store them under carefully controlled conditions and only ship them when we know they will not be exposed to sub-freezing conditions during transit. We expect to ship your tubers early-to-mid April.
Can I pickup my order?
Yes! Just contact us and we can arrange for your pickup (and will refund any shipping charges).
Are your dahlia tubers organic?
We are not certified organic but grow our flowers with organic practices in mind. We handle the planting, watering, weeding, harvesting, storage and shipping ourselves and take our well-being (and that of our soil ecosystem) very seriously.
As a result, we do not use synthetic fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides on our farm. Instead we rely on natural supplements (such as fish emulsion, bone meal and potash) and maintain an Integrated Pest Management program. But we do utilize reusable polymer-based landscape fabric to control weeds and conserve water.
Do you charge sales tax?
We are only required to charge sales tax if you reside in Virginia. If you are a Virginia-domiciled business with a tax-exemption certificate, let us know so we can treat your order accordingly!
What if I’m not satisfied with my tubers?
Our tubers are guaranteed to have have at least one viable eye and will be the exact type you ordered. We do not re-sell tubers from other growers; we only offer tubers we have grown, nurtured and divided ourselves.
While we cannot be responsible for planting, soil or weather conditions in your area, if you have a problem please let us know and we will do our best to assist.
